Translated as the "Skirt of Hi'iaka," this endemic coastal vine bears pale blue flowers. Legend tells of the Goddess Pele returning to the beach from a lengthy fishing trip. She found that the vine had spread over her baby sister, Hi'iaka, protecting her from the sun's rays.
